First weeks

Dear Lily,

Your first few weeks have been a learning experience for all three of us! You have taught your Mommy and Daddy that newborns can't be put on a schedule, how to stay patient when we feel very frantic, and how to function on very little sleep.

You, my sweet little pumpkin, have also been growing and experiencing all sorts of new things:

Your very first trip in the car
(Mom was worried about your little head
rolling around so she held it for you)
Learning about your senses with Sophie the Giraffe

This is the first time you rolled on your side -
you were about 4 days old.

Here is your first bath from Mom and Dad

When you finally fall asleep it's virtually impossible to wake you up-
which is fine with us because you are so ADORABLE when you sleep!

Probably our favorite thing about you so far are the fantastic faces you make. This kissy lips one is a classic.
We could just watch you all day (and sometimes we do!)

We love you so much and we are so overjoyed to have you here in our arms at last.

Until next time,
Mommy and Daddy

The Big Day!

The big day finally arrived! Lily Elisabeth Naomi Ellis was born on Tuesday, August 30th at 2:43 p.m. weighing 7 lbs 12 oz and measuring 20 inches long. She is absolutely perfect in every single way and we couldn't be more proud. We are going to be heading home sometime today (Thursday) and will send more info after that.  Just wanted to get a few pics up to show off our precious baby girl.

Just born baby Ellis- she was such a trooper!

One day old having a good rest after a good feed. Life is good.

Proud (and incredibly attentive) Daddy with his little girl.

Mommy and baby resting after a long, hard day.

The happy family all together right after the birth

For those of you keeping track, Due Date Day has come and gone. We spent the weekend VERY anxiously awaiting her arrival. However, once Sunday evening came, we finally decided to just enjoy this time we have left between the two of us and trust that God is going to bring her at the exact perfect moment (which I don't get to choose- that was a hard one for me to wrap my head around!!) So we made a quick trip to the gas station for some treats, played some UNO and watched Ice Road Truckers. We had a great time and we can't wait for you to get here, little Lily, whenever that may be.

Welcome!

Congratulations! You have now found the best way to stay up-to-date with the Ellis Family goings-on. This blog was more specifically created for our very first creation, Lily, but we hope you might still hold some interest in the rest of her family also. :) So stayed tuned for the announcement of her much anticipated arrival!
