Easter, Graduation, Crawling... 8 months!

~Lily Bean~
Another exciting month to put down in the books. You seem to be growing faster and faster each month and I have not quite figured out how to slow it down yet. By far the most exciting moment was when you learned to crawl. You were hanging out downstairs with Mom and started heading for a bottle of cleaner. You took your usual hesitant crawl then you just went for it and haven't stopped since. Here is some video of the day you learned to crawl.

Your favorite things to crawl towards are: Sophie's water bowl, chords, digital devices (cameras, remotes, computers, etc.) and really anything you aren't supposed to have.

Easter

Looking through your Easter basket. Dress, shoes, and some fun food.

All dressed up, now you're really going through your basket. You liked the grass the most.

Easter-time festivities. Easter bunny jacket from Mamaw, jamming with Elmo on the microphone, and swinging in your new swing from Grammy and Pappy Schroeder.

Graduation
Your super awesome and amazing Daddy graduated with his Masters degree from the University of Michigan and we were all so proud of him! Here you are hanging out with some family at our after-graduation-shin-dig.

 Other fun goings-on
Pappy teaching you how to play the piano. You're a prodigy already!
Your Uncle Lukie loves you so so much.  Here you guys are,
hanging out and having a blast.
Entranced by Baby Einstein, munching on your chewbeads.
Besides your beautiful blue eyes and carrot lips, this picture
was taken to show your first bruise. You obtained this during
a precarious escapade around our solid wood chairs.

You found the camera and this is what you did when I took
it away, so I figured I better document moments like these
just to remind you that you weren't ALWAYS the adorable
and well-behaved baby shown in these pictures.

Here you are looking JUST like your Daddy. There is no doubt that you are your Father's child inside and out! That's probably why everyone loves you SO much.

Happy 8 Months!
These were pretty much the only pictures I got that weren't blurry or of the top of your head. You are really on the move now. In fact, as I was taking these you stood yourself up for the first time while hanging onto my leg. I finally put the sticker on your bum in hopes of getting one good shot. I would also like to point out that the picture on the right is the only one I got of you sitting still and smiling because you were looking at your super awesome Daddy, who you love so much. I think your favorite thing to say is Dada (along with ga, ta, ya, ba... still no ma!!)

You also enjoy seeing how high and loud you can shriek, testing the various acoustics in certain rooms. Probably your favorite time of day is bath time; I think you could sit and splash in there all day if I let you. You learned to wave this month, although we're still working on the appropriate time to do it. But you have the wrist action down and it's the cutest thing I've ever seen. You're also working on your clapping- you don't quite have it down yet, it's more of a shaking-your-hands-simultaneously but we get the idea. I could list a million more things you learned to do this month, but we better keep it simple. Until next month, my dear!

7 Months

Lily Babe

You did such a great job at growing this month! You have very skillfully crafted your crawling, walking and teeth growing skills in preparation for those momentous events. You can get up on your hands and knees (no crawling action yet, though) and can push yourself up from your back to sitting on your cute little bum. You can walk as long as we hold you up and you have been drooling/chewing up a storm in preparation for those little teeth.

Here you are with Grandpa practicing your walking skills.
This month was exceptionally wonderful because for a few weeks we had a taste of spring/summer and boy did you love that!
Your favorite outdoor activity is riding around in your little car
the wonderful neighbors gave us. Whether it's around the cul-de-sac or
around the block you always really enjoy it.

Here you are with Grandma riding in your car.

You enjoy being outside with all of your Grandparents.

And with Mom
You also went "swimming" for the first time on a beautiful 80 degree
day in March! It was more of a bath, but you were in your
swimsuit and you were outside so we count that as swimming.
Just to prove how much fun it was, here's a video.

You also swung for the first time at the park across from
Mamaw Cindy's house. We really made the most
of the nice weather!

Here are some other fun things you did this month:
We got out all your stuffed animals and you were really
excited to have so many friends!

Trying some carrots made by Mom. Those didn't turn out so well
but you did enjoy the apples and bananas!

You had another playdate with Mom's High School friend's babies. You love to be around other babies, and even tried to hold Ontae's hand. Quite darling!

This one is cute because I can just see you thinking
"I'm not listening!"

Our beautiful ballerina baby.

Life wasn't always as perfect as these pictures made it seem, but at the end of every single day your Daddy and I thanked God for our perfect, amazing and beautiful baby Lily.

The half year mark

Lily E--

Hello my sweet baby girl. You have grown more this month than any other month, I think. The first day of your 6th month of life you decided you were ready to roll from your back to your tummy. I can't even describe how proud we felt; it was a very exciting moment! You also learned how to roll from tummy to back (that come second because you're not very fond of tummy time), you have really perfected your ability to pick up and maneuver objects with your hands (and mouth!), and you learned some pretty cool new sounds. The video below shows your current favorite sound: the cluck.

Tried for another 4 Gen photo. We're not a very photogenic group.

You had everyone entranced in Sesame Street
(except Great Grandma of course.)

You chew on anything and everything you can get your hands on,
no exaggeration! This is you knowing that you shouldn't
be chewing on a gift bag, but you are anyway because
it's just too hard to say no to that face.

Hanging out with Uncle Luke.

Cuddling with Uncle Shawn.

You and Sophie are warming up to each other quickly. The picture on the right shows Sophie sharing her ball. It didn't last long, but it's the thought that counts! Below you can see she even decided to cuddle for a moment. You took the opportunity to eat her ear.
Perfecting your tummy time skills.
Also a very cute picture.
First taste of "real" food: peas. You weren't entirely impressed,
but we have yet to see you turn away food.

Play Date
You had a play date with Julian and Aria, which you were very excited about. I had never seen you so content for such a long period of time.
Watching Jazzmon do something interesting while you eat in
your twin Bumbo's.
You weren't incredibly excited about the fact that Julian
was chewing on your arm...

All the babies lined up in a row. 4, 5, and 6 months.

6 Month Stats:

17.5 lbs (75th-95th percentile)
27 1/2 inches (over 95th percentile)

Sleep update: You finally are taking all your naps in your crib, but we're still working on getting you to sleep through the night.
